ELEVEST® Procedure - Is It For Me?

Only your doctor can determine if the ELEVEST procedure is appropriate for you.

If you have been diagnosed with significant uterine prolapse that requires surgery to correct, the ELEVEST procedure may be one of the options for you.

Typically, a hysterectomy is recommended for women experiencing symptoms resulting from a prolapsed uterus. However, the ELEVEST procedure is a new technique for correcting a prolapsed uterus to its normal position without hysterectomy.

Women who wish to complete childbearing after having the ELEVEST procedure may be able to do so. However, childbearing status will not affect eligibility for the ELEVEST procedure. Women of all ages are eligible for the procedure.

Before your doctor makes a treatment recommendation, he or she will take a thorough medical history and pelvic exam. The pelvic exam will include measurements to determine the type and degree of prolapse you may have. For example, you may have a prolapsed bladder in addition to uterine prolapse. In these cases, you doctor may also evaluate your bladder function at the same time. You will also be asked to rate your symptoms.

We encourage you to talk openly with your doctor about your symptoms and expectations about various treatment options. To prepare for your exam, you may wish to write down your symptoms and any questions or concerns.
