UPLIFT Procedure - Is It For Me?

Only your physician can determine if the UPLIFT procedure is an appropriate treatment for your symptoms. It is one of many options that may be available to you, depending on your symptoms.

One of the most effective ways of determining appropriate treatment is through a complete pelvic exam. In many cases, the symptoms can be reproduced during the exam. For example, your physician can determine whether you have a retroverted or tipped uterus during the exam. He or she can also determine whether the position of the uterus may be causing pain during sexual intercourse.

Your physician is aware that the subject of dyspareunia is a sensitive one that involves private sexual issues, so he or she may hesitate to ask too many questions. You may also be reluctant to talk about the pain you are experiencing. You can help find an appropriate treatment by being open and candid with your physician.

You may want to write down any questions or concerns for review by your physician. He or she will maintain strict confidentiality to protect your privacy.
